Message:    I served in Vietnam from April 1967 to April 1968 in a non-combat unit; the major relay in Nha Trang. My return from Korea in 1951 was more like the returning vets received after WWII. I agree with your assessment of the picture painted by the media about Vietnam.

Message:    Hi Gene. Im a French Kor and Nam Vet. Many thanks for your question about individuals at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu that were tearing apart the Flag rather than let the Viet Minh capture it. I will try to answer. Remember the anniversary : on 7th May 1954, the Fall of Dien Bien Phû. At that time, a Marines of my friends,Lucian Caldara, 3rd Division USMC, was packed and ready. On May 2001, he wrote to me: "Leon, I remember the day.. The last days of Dien Bien Phu... I was with the 3d Marine Division, in Japan. We were packed and ready to go to Indo China. With the fall of Dien Bien Phu and the Paris peace talks, we were told to "stand down." I always wondered what would have happened if the US aided France, at that time.. If this would have eliminated the Viet Nam War..." The Memory is still there... God bless America, Semper fidelis and Vive la France. Please, take a look at URL http://www.dienbienphu.org/

Message:    I am trying to locate anyone who served with Captain Joseph E. Green, United States Army. From what I know he was with the First Air Calvary. He has passed on as a result of cancer, and I am wondering if it was linked to Agent Orange, and if so, his name should be one The Wall. I served in the Naval Support Activity, DaNang from February 20, 1970 to February 12, 1971 and I am in the process of building a memorial from four men from my hometown of Bloomfield, Iowa who killed in the Vietnam War. May I please hear from you, WELCOME HOME BROTHERS, All Gave Some, Some Gave All Joe Harris President Joe's Sock Fund for Homeless Veterans, Inc.

Message:    GREAT SITE I SERVED WITH 336th ASHC IN SOCTRANG FROM 7/67 TO 7/68. IT SURE IS GREAT TO SEE SOME ONE KEEPS THE MESSAGE GOIN OUT THAT WE WERE THERE FOR A CAUSE AND THAT WE DID NOT LOSE THE WAR. I FEEL THAT ALL MEDIA NEEDS TO KEEP OUT OF WAR ZONES AND LET THE MILITARY OPREATE THE WAY THEY NEED TO. IT SHOULD BE THAT THE MEDIA SHOULD WRITE ABOUT THE CAUSE AND TO KEEP THE SUPPORT OF THE COUNTRY BEHIND THE MEN AND WOMEN SERVING.
