Message:    Great site. I don't know what we would have done without you "Hookers" over there. You brought us water, ammo, and even picked up our ships and us when we went down. I had the pleasure of riding in one after we lost power and crash landed one night. Y'all were there bright and early the next morning to take us and our ship home. Thank you for being there. You don't get enough credit where credit is due. God Bless, Hacksaw

Message:    Gene, It has been a while since I found you and the 362nd. You have done a fantastic job of putting together the story of a great unit and some of the bravest men I have ever met. I will never forget nor will I ever stop telling about the time I spent with you and the Sky Troopers. The Patch says"WE FLY UNITED" we were and in some ways are still "UNITED"in ways the average person will never understand. Keep the beat going, John

Message:    I want to commend you for a great site. I have only scratch the surface but I was particularly pleased to see the text of Hanoi Jane's message - blieve it or not, the first time. Served with the 178th ASHC at Chu Lai from 11/67 to 11/68 as aircraft electrician. Pickup up your site location from the 178th guestbook. I especially enjoyed the pictures and the music. It is indeed important that those who served tell their story and this site and the many like it are a powerful way to do that. For me they are a haven, a place to remember the good men who served and the brave men who died. Thanks for taking the time to share these things with the rest of us.

Message:    Retired USA First Sergeant with appox 10,000 hours flight crew member time in a variety of aircraft, from OH-23, to CH-54, YC-7A and the best and favorite, the CH-47 from A's- to D's and hear them in the flight pattern on the way to "Goldberg" morning, noon and nite.Best "Hook" time was with Air America, a story yet to be told, about Air America and their Chinooks that was a late but important part of the "Secret War" in Laos, far from the bad movie "Air America " that leaves a sickening false representation of one hell of a group of very brave men.

Message:    Thank you for your page. It hurts to come here, but I do anyway. What you are saying needs to be said and it needs to be heard every where. I'm just a civilian that cried and prayed for all of you every day for many years. Part of my heart is still over there, he never got to come home. So, in his honor and yours,I made a page to say Thank You to the men and women who paid for, and continue to pay for my freedom. It is very simple, but made with love and respect. Freedom is not free and the cost in blood and lives is very high. Respectfully, Beti

Message:    The 2001 Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association (VHPA) Reunion is planned for 2-7 July in Denver, Colorado. Significant events during the Reunion are the mini-reunions planned by Flight Classes and/or members of aviation units that served in Vietnam. In past Reunions there were no mini-reunions held by or for Chinook/Tandem Rotor units. As the Chairman for Mini-reunions for the 2001 VHPA Reunion, I would be glad to hold a Mini-reunion for Chinook/Tandem Rotor pilots/units if there is enough interest. Please provide any emails of interest/comments to Brian Foote via: bgfoote@conentric.net
